The hammer and hardie is the classic way to cut smalti and stone for mosaic. The tessera rests on the hardie's blade and a sharp strike from the hammer splits it cleanly. We carry Italian mosaic hammers, including a 450 g fixed-handle hammer and a 750 g traditional hammer, the Mosaic Master™ carbide-and-steel hammer combo, and Mosaic Master™ hardies, both traditional steel and threaded, with matching bases.
