Why SICIS? What Sets Italian Glass Mosaic Apart

After 25+ years in the luxury tile business, if someone asks me which high-end mosaic brand impresses me the most, my answer is almost always SICIS.

SICIS produces high-quality Murano glass tile collections in Ravenna, Italy using a unique, patented, and environmentally conscious formula with up to 70% mineral content. They combine traditional hand-crafting techniques with modern innovation, so every single piece feels truly one of a kind.

What Really Sets SICIS Apart

Here’s what stands out to me after years of working with them:

• Premium Italian Craftsmanship — 100% made in Ravenna using silica and high-quality minerals (up to 70% mineral content) through a traditional high-temperature melting process.
• Exceptional Color & Luminosity — They offer over 700 vibrant colors with intense luminosity and beautiful iridescence.
• Finer & More Elegant Chips — SICIS uses elegant 5/8” chips (smaller than the standard 1” chips most competitors use), which gives every installation a much more refined and detailed appearance.
• Outstanding Durability — Extremely robust with the highest certified resistance against detachment. They’re also naturally resistant to bacteria and mold.
• Great Design Flexibility — Available in several finishes and shapes on two different supports, so you have real creative options.
• Sustainability Focus — SICIS holds certifications for both sustainability and safety.

Where SICIS Really Shines

In my experience, SICIS performs beautifully in:

• Swimming Pools — This is where they truly excel. The vibrant colors, luminosity, and durability create stunning, resort-style pools that look amazing.
• Luxury Bathrooms & Showers — They create that high-end spa feeling better than almost anything else.
• Kitchen Backsplashes & Feature Walls — They bring incredible elegance and depth to any space.

My Honest Opinion

Yes, SICIS is a premium product and costs more than standard glass mosaic. But after 25 years in this industry, I can honestly say it’s worth the investment when you want something truly special. You’re not just buying tile — you’re getting exceptional Italian craftsmanship and custom artwork quality.

Have you worked with SICIS before, or are you thinking about it for a pool or interior project? Feel free to reach out — I’d be happy to help you choose the right collection.
